In accordance with the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, the first meeting of the Economic Intelligence Committee in the Guelmim Wadden region was held on 4 June 2020, via videoconference, to develop an action plan to diagnose and manage the imbalances and repercussions of the Corona pandemic (Covid 19).
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Muhammad Al-Najim Abhay, Wali of the Guelmim Oued Noun region, and the Governor of Guelmim, in addition to the Governors of the provinces of Tantan, Sidi Ifni and Asa Zak.
The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Agency for the Promotion and Development of the Southern Provinces, and Mrs. Mubarakah Bouaideh, President of the region of Guelmim Oued Noun, as well as the Presidents of the professional chambers and the Heads of the external services.

The meeting was opened by Mr. Wali of the region of Guelmim Oued Noun, where he stressed that the process of good management of the current situation related to the Corona pandemic, and the precautionary and proactive measures required by it, mainly due to the instructions and courageous initiatives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God bless and support him, indicating in the same context the implication of the mobilization of all civil and military actors to reduce the gravity of this pandemic, recalling that the State has made available all capacities to alleviate the suffering of the population following the quarantine period, as he indicated in his speech on the continuity of the royal programs to the Guelmim Oued Noun region, calling on everyone to join efforts until the economic situation returns to its pre-Corona pandemic nature, based on the encouragement of liberal work and proposing effective solutions and alternatives such as the use of domestic tourism, for example, to compensate for the extent of the damage suffered by the tourism sector in the region and in Morocco in general.
Subsequently, the governor of the province of Tan-Tan, stressed the importance of precautionary and proactive measures in Tan-Tan in order to limit the occurrence of the Corona virus. He thanked the people of Tan-Tan for their understanding and interaction with the precautionary requirements of the circumstances.
On this occasion, he thanked the Speaker of the House, Lahoucine Aliaoua, for acquiring an ambulance with his own money for the benefit of the health delegation in Tan-Tan.
In addition, the Director of the Agency for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Southern Regions took the floor. He called for the implementation of the agreements concluded with the local authorities for the urban rehabilitation of Guelmim Oued Noun, and in the same context, he stressed that the agency has transferred the funds committed to the initiative of the Wadden Association.
Then, the floor was given to the presidents of professional chambers, where Mr. Lahoucine Alioua President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Guelmim Oued Noun, stressed that the merit of the good management of the policy of prevention and precaution against the repercussions of the pandemic of Corona 19 is mainly due to the heritage leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, God bless him, who made the bet to protect citizens before the economy.
He also thanked the Governor of Guelmim for his effective supervision of the implementation of the protocol associated with Covid 19, and also thanked the Governor of Tan-Tan Province, who has shown great skill, competence and responsibility in the area of careful and rational planning and development to meet the challenges of the Corona virus, which has been highly appreciated by the citizens and professionals.
The President also thanked the Director of the Agency for the Promotion and Development of Southern Regions for his commitment to the Wadden Association, an initiative related to honour loans for the benefit of Chamber employees who have been severely affected by the quarantine, particularly the coffee and hotel sector, tourism-related activities, taxis and various other activities.
The President of the region of Guelmim Oued Noun also called for the support of this association in order to participate in the mitigation of harm caused to professionals. In conclusion, it is necessary to adapt the solutions proposed at the national level after the phasing out process, with the specificities of each party.
After the intervention of the representatives of the various sectors, Mr. Muhammad Al-Najim Bahi, Wali of the Guelmim Oued Noun region, thanked all the speakers for their vigilance and esteem for the authority they represent, appreciating their tireless efforts to put in place a road map to restore economic life to its former rhythm, and to strengthen the spirit of synergy in order to establish a strategy that seeks to redress imbalances and interact positively until the situation stabilizes, to move smoothly beyond the forties.
