Mr. President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Guelmim Oued Noun, Lahoucine Alioua participated, by videoconference, in the consultative meeting between the Head of Government, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Green and Digital Economy, and the presidents of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services and their federation on Saturday, May 30, 2020. this t meeting was devoted to the discussion of deconfinement measures and the impact of the covid 19 pandemic on different commercial, industrial and service sectors in Morocco, and it was also planned to revive the economy and give back to the economic movement its nature.
The Head of Government, Dr. Saad Al-Din Al-Othmani, confirmed that the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services have played an important role, and are expected to do more in the next stages, to deal with the impact of the Corona pandemic. He also dwelt on the need to activate the participatory approach with the chambers, considering that :
“the consultative meeting held is not intended to take decisions, but rather to initiate a series of meetings, even though we are in a period of pandemic, but we are counting on joint cooperation with the different actors that include the chambers of industry, commerce and services”.
The head of government also called on the presidents of the chambers participating in the meeting to start submitting notes containing everything related to the lifting of the quarantine and the economic recovery plan on which the government is working, in addition to expressing proposals for the Amending Finance Law for 2020.
On this occasion, the Head of Government praised the actions that our country has taken since the first case of the Corona epidemic, and how it has managed to avoid the worst health and social disasters and to control the epidemiological situation, in addition to the economic and social measures to support the family and businesses affected by the pandemic:
“We have been able to do important work, the support that has been allocated to the groups concerned, the social and humanitarian support, and if it is temporary support, it is to help them in this circumstance because they are affected by the containment. “
In this regard, the Head of Government referred to the major projects launched by the government, which aim to generalize social security coverage for the self-employed and autonomous workers, a project that the government has been able to relaunch, after waiting for the completion of the legal arsenal related to it since 2005. He stressed in this context that the Government, after a great deal of work, and in cooperation with Parliament and the various actors in the sectors and institutions concerned, as well as with professionals and their representatives, has been able to produce the necessary legal texts, as has the effective launch of social security coverage for three professional federations.
The Head of Government also stressed the tireless and continuous work to extend social security coverage to other groups and professions, calling on the presidents of the chambers to contribute to this major project, which requires a high degree of consultation and participation, in order to bring it to fruition and bring it to fruition for the target groups of professionals, who currently lack any social security coverage guaranteeing them a decent life at the various stages of their lives.
