The board of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region convened on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the regional headquarters in Guelmim. This meeting was convened in the aftermath of the tragedy that struck our country, namely the powerful earthquake that occurred in the Al Haouz region on the night of Friday, September 8, 2023.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Lahoucine Alioua, the president of the chamber, and was attended by members of the board and the administrative staff of the chamber.
The meeting commenced with the recitation of the Fatiha in memory of the victims of the tragedy that befell our country, as well as the offering of condolences to the families of the victims and wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The participants commended the decisions made during the meeting presided over by His Majesty the King, may God protect him, which took place on Saturday, September 9, and they decided to contribute to the efforts being undertaken by the Moroccan authorities under the wise leadership of His Majesty the King.
Subsequently, they discussed ways to provide support and contribute to national efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of the victims of this tragic and significant earthquake.
During this meeting, several decisions were made, including the contribution of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region to the “Fund dedicated to managing the consequences of the earthquake that has affected the Kingdom.” They also encouraged all economic actors, regardless of their fields and specialties, such as industrialists, traders, and service providers, to lend their support and contribute to these national efforts.
