As part of the monitoring of the feasibility study on the economic activity zone of Tan-Tan, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the region of Guelmim Oued Noun, held a meeting on May 25, 2021 in the annex of the Chamber in Tan Tan. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Lahoucine Alayoua, President of the Chamber and attended by the Pasha of the city of Tan-Tan, representatives of the South Agency, representatives of the consulting firm in charge of studying the project, the acting head of division of equipment and the head of division of reconstruction and environment of the province of Tan-Tan, representatives of the regional investment center and representatives of the provincial delegation of trade and industry, as well as members of the economic and social committee.
This meeting was devoted to the discussion of the project of the Zone of Economic Activities of Tan-Tan.
After the representatives of the Bureau of Studies presented the said study, an in-depth discussion was opened, during which a set of points and observations were identified, and the most important of them are:
- Insisting on the importance of the success of the project;
- Taking into consideration the time factor, in order to integrate the project in the proposed projects of the Ministry in order to receive funding;
- It was emphasized that the area of the proposed economic activity zone (consisting of 8 hectares with the possibility of adding two more hectares) should be separated from the area covered by the study, which is limited to 70 hectares, of which 20 hectares are built.
- A model for the Tan-Tan economic activity zone will be completed, in which all project details will be included;
- Emphasize compliance with the proposals of the Economic and Social Committee in terms of area of stores as well as the location of the project on the main road of Talmazon, with the need for a protective wall;
- The importance of coordination between the different actors to unify the vision and achieve an integrated study that meets all requirements;
- All stakeholders have committed to provide all possible means to facilitate the realization of this study.
At the end of the meeting, the President of the Chamber, Mr. Lahoucine Alayoua, called on the Bureau of Studies, the Economic and Social Committee of the Chamber, the Agency of the South and the architect to organize periodic meetings in order to make the said study a success and accelerate the implementation of the project.
