This regional consultative meeting aims to develop a new industrial strategy with the goal of expanding dialogue with local stakeholders and contractors to gather concrete proposals to enrich the content of the industrial strategy currently under development.
In this regard, the governor of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region emphasized the importance of this meeting, which falls within the framework of the participatory approach aimed at implementing a deep reform that considers regional industrial development and meets the expectations of entrepreneurs and economic actors.
Furthermore, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region highlighted that the development of the industrial sector in the region primarily relies on promoting participatory democracy and opening a dialogue with all economic actors, civil society actors, local authorities, and local communities in a manner that ensures full support for project implementation, including the rehabilitation and construction of industrial zones and economic activity zones.
Economic stakeholders in this meeting also discussed the reality of the industrial sector in the region, which serves as a driver for regional development, and emphasized the need to address current problems and constraints to ensure the success of this new industrial strategy.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce also outlined during this meeting the principles and objectives set forth by the industrial strategy of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region to promote industrial development in the region through industrial zones and markets. He also highlighted that this strategy aims to encourage skills and provide new employment opportunities for young Moroccans, while supporting promising sectors within collaborative development programs.
In his speech, Ahmed Edzidaz, the first vice-president of the Council of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, affirmed that the organization of this meeting aims to strengthen public discourse with local stakeholders, presenting a set of projects included in the regional development program of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region to promote the industrial sector.
This new industrial strategy, focused on developing human capital, research and innovation, improving competitiveness, and sustainable development, is part of the efforts made by the Kingdom of Morocco to become a competitive industrial hub both regionally and internationally.
