A regional consultative meeting was held at the Guelmim Conference Palace to prepare for the second National Advanced Regionalization Forum in Tangier under the theme: “Advanced Regionalization: Challenges of Today and Tomorrow.”
The meeting was inaugurated by the Wali of Guelmim-Oued Noun, who emphasized that advanced regionalization is a strategic choice reflecting royal directives to achieve balanced development and spatial justice across the kingdom. Discussions highlighted the importance of fostering collaboration between local stakeholders and encouraging inclusive community participation in decision-making processes.
Key topics included enhancing territorial attractiveness to attract investments, securing funding for sustainable development programs, promoting decentralization, tackling water stress through sustainable water resource management, organizing sustainable transport, and advancing the digital transformation of local governance.
The meeting brought together key actors, including the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services, elected officials, representatives of professional chambers, external services, and civil society. Recommendations were made to strengthen coordination, adopt an inclusive approach to challenges, and empower women and youth in regional initiatives.
This meeting marks a significant step towards establishing a clear roadmap for balanced regional development in line with the kingdom’s vision for advanced regionalization.
