The board of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services for the Guelmim and Oued Noun region met on Thursday September 14, 2023, at its regional headquarters in Guelmim. The meeting took place in the wake of the tragedy that struck our country, following the strong earthquake that struck on the night of Friday September 8, 2023.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Lahoucine Alioua, President of the Chamber, in the presence of members of the Board and the Chamber’s administrative staff.
The meeting was initiated by the recitation of Al-Fatihah for the souls of the victims of the tragedy that struck our country, offering condolences to the families of the victims and calling for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The meeting appreciated the decisions ordered by His Majesty the King, may God assist him, at the meeting held under His Majesty’s presidency on Saturday September 9, and resolved to contribute to the efforts undertaken by the Moroccan authorities, under the wise guidance of His Majesty the King, may God protect him.
It then discussed ways of supporting and contributing to national efforts to alleviate the suffering of the victims of this painful earthquake.
During the meeting, a number of decisions were taken, the most significant of which was the contribution of the Guelmim-Ouednoun region Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services to the “Special Fund for managing the effects of the earthquake that hit the Kingdom of Morocco”, calling on all economic players, whatever their field of work and specialization as industrialists, traders and service operators, to motivate them to lend their support and contribute to these national efforts.
