The National Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises organized in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Guelmim Oued Noun, the Council of the region Guelmim Oued Noun (“the Week of Enterprise”), and devoted its first day to the opening session held at the conference room at the headquarters of the wilaya on Tuesday, 04 February 2020 in the province of guelmim.
The objective of this event, which took place in the different regions of the region: guelmim, Sidi Ifni, Tantan and Assa-zak, is to strengthen the partnership with institutional and economic actors in the region and to inform and raise awareness among project holders and self-entrepreneurs of the new system of self-entrepreneur and programs of Maroc PME. In addition, this day allowed to identify the expectations of entrepreneurs in the region and to answer their questions in a consultative group.
In this context, Mr. Wali, from the Guelmim Oued Noun region initiated the session with an opening speech in which he thanked the organizers of the event and reminded them of the high directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and the integrated program of support and financing of enterprises.
Also, Mr. the Wali said that this week will be a pillar for a better implementation of programs dedicated to business and this, in partnership with the Agency for Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Southern Regions, the territorial municipalities and the National Initiative for Human Development.
For her part, the President of the region referred to the “integrated business support and financing programme”, which she considered a “historic” initiative aimed at facilitating access to financing for businesses and a step towards finding solutions to unemployment. She also thanked the initiative of the Moroccan SME Agency in choosing the region of Guelmim Oued Noun to organise “Enterprise Week”. She stressed that this week will contribute to strengthening the initiatives of enterprises by the Council of the region through the partnerships it has concluded. In this context, and she called on all bodies to contribute to the establishment of good governance on the theme of operation and self-employment in particular, aimed at strengthening the development role of the region by simplifying and facilitating access to loans and by opening up more to very small and small and medium-sized enterprises and facilitating their professional and social integration.
In his speech, the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Guelmim Oued Noun, Mr Lahoucine Alayoua, said that this event aims to encourage entrepreneurship and investment, stressing the importance of entrepreneurship as a real driving force for economic development, wealth creation, jobs and technological innovation, and its significant contribution to promoting investment at national level.
He said that Morocco has a business fabric made up of 93% of small and medium-sized enterprises, which is an area for promoting entrepreneurship, noting that although it contributes only 20% to the gross domestic product due to a number of difficulties and challenges it faces, including financing, access to financial and banking markets, the fragility of this category of enterprises, in addition to the problem of training, qualification of human resources and skills development.
He concluded his speech with recommendations, such as the creation of the Central Guarantee Fund at the level of guelmim oued noun, and the promotion of the Office for Vocational Training and the promotion of employment and banking institutions to regional representative institutions.
For his part, the Director General of “Maroc PME” presented a speech in which he referred to the program of “the week of enterprise” and its objectives, as well as the commitments of his institution and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Guelmim Oued Noun region. Thus he ended his speech with the criterion of success of this week, which is the large number of beneficiaries of training and investment grants awarded to businesses. Then the development manager of Maroc PME made a presentation of programs and offers by his institution.
At the end of the opening session, a partnership agreement was signed with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of guelmim oued noun. This agreement is part of the agreements relating to the development plans of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services in Morocco, and the contractual framework between the State and the National Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises 2015-2020, the agreement is the framework of a partnership between the Agency and the Federation of Moroccan Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services in order to promote entrepreneurial initiative and competitiveness of enterprises in the Kingdom.
