Strengthening Occupational Risk Prevention: A Call for Awareness and Support

The Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of the Guelmim Oued Noun region, represented by Mr. Mouloud Mnadh, participated in the regional awareness days on occupational risk prevention, organized by the Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Enterprises, and Employment. The event, held at the Technological Institute in Al-Watya, aimed to promote a culture of occupational safety and reduce risks threatening workers across various sectors.

In his speech, Mr. Mouloud Mnadh highlighted the importance of continuing field awareness efforts, emphasizing that organizing awareness days at the regional committee level would significantly enhance collective awareness of prevention. He pointed out that leveraging digital tools, such as broadcasting awareness videos, is an innovative method to reach a broader audience of workers and employers.

Mr. Mnadh also stressed the necessity of equipping workshops with essential safety gear before enforcing punitive laws imposed by the competent authorities. He called for the signing of partnership agreements to provide support and guidance to employers to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. He emphasized that occupational risk prevention is not just a legal obligation but a collective responsibility aimed at protecting lives and ensuring sustainable productivity.

This call comes amid growing awareness of the importance of enhancing occupational safety measures, particularly in sectors with high accident and injury rates. The Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services aims to use these initiatives as an opportunity to involve all stakeholders, including workers, employers, and government entities, in adopting a comprehensive approach to occupational safety.

The Chamber’s future vision includes launching sustainable awareness campaigns, providing workshops and field training sessions, and equipping workshops with modern safety gear. The Chamber also hopes to develop digital tools dedicated to assessing and analyzing occupational risks, enabling better planning and decision-making regarding safety measures.

Promoting a culture of prevention requires ongoing coordination among all stakeholders and investment in innovative solutions that minimize accidents and ensure a healthy and safe working environment.
