On Tuesday, October 22, a meeting of the Regional Chamber was held at its headquarters in Guelmim, chaired by Mr. Bashir Andar, the first vice president of the chamber, to prepare for the work of the second ordinary session for the year 2024. This meeting is part of the chamber’s efforts to enhance institutional work and develop economic activities in the region, contributing to the improvement of economic and social conditions.

During the meeting, it was agreed to set the date for the session on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the regional chamber headquarters in Guelmim. This session is expected to address several important issues that concern local economic stakeholders. A diverse agenda has been established, reflecting the chamber’s priorities and vision for the future.

The first agenda item relates to the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, as this step expresses respect and appreciation for the religious values that promote cooperation and solidarity among members. This will be followed by a speech from the president, which is expected to address the chamber’s updates and strategic directions for the upcoming period, in addition to the key achievements made during the past period.

The third point concerns the approval of the minutes of the first ordinary session for the year 2024, which is essential to ensure transparency and accountability in administrative work. In this context, a report on the chamber’s activities between the two sessions will be presented, highlighting the achievements and challenges faced by the chamber during the interim period.

Another important point to be discussed is the deliverables and results of activating the regional communication workshop, which is part of the comprehensive development plan for the chamber. This workshop is one of the main tools to enhance communication among various economic and social stakeholders in the region, facilitating the exchange of ideas and experiences.

The seventh point will be the approval of a partnership agreement to support and finance the establishment of an economic activity zone in Tan-Tan, a project aimed at boosting local investment and creating job opportunities. The session will also discuss issues related to the social security fund in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, contributing to providing social support for workers and their families.

The last agenda item will concern tax developments in the region, where the challenges and opportunities related to the current tax system will be discussed and how it can be improved to support economic activities.

At the end of the meeting, a letter of loyalty and sincerity will be addressed to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist and support him, expressing loyalty and dedication to the royal throne, and reaffirming the chamber’s commitment to serving the nation and its citizens.

These preparations come at a time when the Guelmim-Oued Noun region needs more support and development on economic and social levels, necessitating the chamber to work diligently and effectively to achieve its goals. The upcoming meeting is expected to strengthen cooperation among various parties and provide a favorable environment for investment and growth.
